5 Things to Do Around Canyon Lake This Summer Print

We’ve all been barreling through Spring very quickly, and before you know it, summer will hit us with its 90-100+ degree Texas heat. The kids will be out of school and the vacation atmosphere will be in the air. Planning for summertime can be awfully meticulous - especially if you’re planning to go out of town for a weekend trip - but there’s still plenty of fun summer opportunities for both locals and tourists to have. And since the season’s starting up soon, it’s time to start thinking about that summer vacation, now.

Here are 5 Things To Do Around Canyon Lake This Summer:

  • Boating: Get out on Canyon Lake, this summer. It’s only the seasonal times when we really get the chance to enjoy the lake like this. You are allowed to bring your own or rent a boat from Watercraft Rentals or the Canyon Lake Marina

  • Fishing/Swimming: Want a peaceful morning before the noon and afternoon craziness on the lake? Fishing is always a great way to start the day. The local docks are always near the two designated swimming areas; Comal Park (south side of the lake) and Canyon Park (north side of the lake.) More details can be found at on our water recreation page

  • Tubing: One of our well-known attractions, thanks to the Guadalupe River. Heading down FM 306, towards New Braunfels, you’ll find our infamous Horseshoe; a grand section of Guadalupe that guests can get on, get off, and get back on in walking distance. Regulated services and river outfitters can be found at on our river outfitters page.
  • Whitewater: Summertime isn’t the only thing back in town. The great Whitewater Amphitheater will get back into the swing of things this season. Whitewater has provided an amazing venue for artists that will get you out of your seats. For performance dates and more, please visit whitewaterrocks.com
